Responsibilites: Liason international organizations, outreach Career: Born 1946 in Vienna, studied astronomy and physics at the University of Vienna (doctorate 1970), until 1972 Postdoc at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. Assistant professor at the Univ. Observatory in Vienna until 1981. 1981 to 1984 Head of the scientific data handling at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1984 to 2008 at ESA / ESO Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility in Munich (from 2004 as head). Intense public outreach. More than 100 refereed publications.
