During the visit of Europe of an eight-persons-delegation from China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) Austrian Space Forum seized the chance to get in initial exploratory talks with the largest federal company from China responsible for the acquisition, marketing and sale of satellites, launch services and crewed spaceflight systems.
Werner Balogh, Norbert Frischauf, Gernot Groemer and Manfred Steinkellner represented Austrian Space Forum and provided information about the forum's activities and main projects. The chinese delegation - headed by Mr. Zhao Chunchao (chief of the department of international relations) - briefed about the current state of development of the chinese space program.
Specific issues like possibilites of transporting nanosatellites were also discussed. Austrian Space Forum sees the meeting as a first step to establish a list of potential cooperation partners and to enlarge its network of international space travel experts.
The forum would like to thank Booz & Co at the Kärntnerring for providing us meeting rooms and catering.
